After going through the full day, do not feel pressure to enlist if you do not want to join. If anything is found, your entrance into MEPS may be denied. It is your life. Similar to the airport, you will go through a metal detector and bags will be checked for contraband. The MEPS will provide you lunch at no cost and dinner if you stay overnight at the motel. Make sure to eat a large breakfast as you have a long day ahead of you. It is important to follow rules during your stay as any misconduct will be reported. Some recruiters will offer to drive you to the location if you do not have access to a car or public transportation. The cost of a motel is covered by the government if you are required to drive a long distance to reach the MEPS. What if you have to travel to a MEPS location? However, if you have any questions or hesitations at this point in time it is okay to delay your decision for a later date. These step helps ensure you know what you are signing up to do. Not disclosing certain information could result in unintentional harm during Basic Training. It is important to answer these questions truthfully. ![]() You will be asked about marital status, history of alcohol or drug abuse, and physical or mental ailment history. The administration will scan your fingerprints and MEPS personnel will make sure you are clear on the conditions of your enlistment. The service liaison will help you select your military job. At the end of the day, your ASVAB results, medical examination and job availability at the time of enlistment will be reviewed with a service liaison (counselor). Instead, you will go on to your medical examination. If you previously took the ASVAB then you will not have to retake the test. You will also perform cool down stretches to help you work on your flexibility, mobility and aid recovery, so you don’t face stiffness the morning after. Dynamic stretches are included at the beginning to warm-up your joints, muscles and heart and prepare them for the demands of the main workout. They were designed to be completed within 30-40 minutes yet will provide a comprehensive full body routine that challenges and improves strength, cardio fitness and muscle endurance. Your workouts are short, sharp and to the point. The program covers 8 weeks’ worth of training providing workouts for 3 sessions per week.
